On March 10th, TrailHeads co-founders, Stephanie and Ed Raftery, selected the 4th recipient of the annual TrailHeads Blaze Your Own Trail Scholarship. The Scholarship was awarded to high school senior, Billy Fitton. Mr. Fitton will attend University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

TrailHeads President Stephanie Raftery commented, “We’re pleased to support Billy on his higher education journey. We wish him all the best as he begins his studies in the fall. We’d also like to thank all the students who applied and shared their stories with us.”

Through the creation of our Scholarship Program, TrailHeads’ goal is to recognize and support students who have faced and overcome their own challenges. 

The Scholarship is open to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students across the nation. The recipient, who will be selected based on his/her essay submission, will receive a one time $1,000 scholarship. The award can be put towards any education related expense from tuition to books to room and board.

Applicants must be 17 or older and be attending an accredited college or university within the United States.
