FAQ's
What are the warmest mittens?
The warmest mittens in our collection are our Women’s Convertible Zip Mitts, which are made with 200g Primaloft insulation. We recommend them for temperatures 10°+ when worn during aerobic activities.
Are there any waterproof options available?
Yes, our Women’s Convertible Running Gloves have a waterproof mitten shell that protects your fingers from rain, wind and snow and can be tucked away into a pocket at the back of the wrist, converting your mittens into touchscreen running gloves.
Our Zip Mitts are water resistant and will shed light precipitation.
Are mittens or gloves warmer for running?
Mittens are typically warmer than gloves because your fingers are together and share body heat, whereas in gloves they are separate.
In TrailHeads collection the mittens typically offer a bit more warmth and insulation than our running gloves. Our warmest style is the Zip Mitts, followed by the Quilted Mittens, which are both designed with lightweight insulation.
Are mittens touchscreen compatible?
Yes, there are multiple mittens in our women’s collection that are touchscreen compatible, whether they have conductive fabric, like our Quilted Running Mittens for Women, or are convertible, which means they allow you to free your fingers to access your phone and other touchscreen devices, like Women’s Convertible Running Mittens.
When should I consider sizing up?
If you are between two sizes we often recommend sizing down because our fabrics are very stretchy and a snug fit can improve warmth and touchscreen functionality. However with a style like our Convertible Mittens, which has half fingers, you should consider sizing up instead for a more comfortable fit around your fingers.
Our women’s mittens vary slightly in sizing depending on the product, but in general you should consider sizing up to Men’s mittens if your hand length measurements are closer to the 8 inch range. Our women’s sizes are typically for hand lengths that are smaller than 7.75 inches.
